Time: 9 a.m. (approximately 3 hours)
Cost: $35
In this class students will learn basic bookbinding skills though making a simple open spine, bound-over-tapes journal. We'll discuss paper types, thread, jigs, cover materials and much more in a fast paced, fun packed three hour session. Students will select a set of front and back covers from my stash of discarded books along with a coordinating ribbon and beads. Pre-folded papers will be pierced and then bound over ribbon using bookbinder's thread and applied beads. Then the final assembly holds a fun surprise for everyone!
Supplies - All materials will be provided by the instructor, however, if you already have any of the following, you are always welcome to bring supplies of your own:
- self healing cutting mat
- art institute glitter glue
- awl
- beads
Refreshments are provided; with 24 hours notice, any dietary needs or sensitivities can be accommodated. Just drop me an e-mail or give me a phone call, and I'll gladly plan refreshments around your needs.

Important Note: Members of our household have acute environmental sensitivities. Because of this we maintain a fragrance-free environment in both our home and in the studio. We ask that visitors and students refrain from applying perfumes and colognes on the day of their visit. Thank you!
